Adobe has reported record revenue of $990.3 million for the third quarter of fiscal 2010, as compared to $697.5 million for the same quarter during fiscal 2009 and $943 million in the immediately preceeding second quarter. Marking a 42 percent year-over-year revenue growth, it is well above the company's intended target of $950 million to $1 billion for the third quarter. Company CEO Shantanu Narayen attributed the revenue to strong business performance in each of the company's major businesses.
During the quarter, diluted earnings per share were $0.44, based on 523.2 million weighted average shares, as against $0.26 during the third quarter of fiscal 2009 based on 531.8 million weighted average shares. Operating income was $302 million and net income was $230.1 million.
For the upcoming fourth quarter, Adobe said it is again aiming for revenues of $950 million to $1 billion, with an operating margin targeted to be 27 percent to 30 percent. It anticipated its share count to be between 516 million and 520 million shares, and it is targeting non-operating expense between $14 million and $19 million. |
