Arrow Electronics, Inc. has said that it has acquired Sphinx Group Limited, a value-added distributor of security and networking solutions based in the UK.
Nottingham-based Sphinx is a specialist distributor serving the UK market. It has a hundred employees and represents over 20 security and networking suppliers, managing a network of over more than a thousand resellers across the UK.
Sphinx list of vendors includes Aladdin, Alcatel Lucent, Clearswift, Enterasys, GuardianEdge, Juniper Networks, McAfee, Meru Networks, Multi-Tech, MXI Security, Perle Systems, Radware, RSA, SafeNet, Siemens, SCO, Swivel, Trend Micro, WatchGuard and Webroot. After the acquisition, Sphinx will be a part of Arrow's Enterprise Computing Solutions' European business. Sphinx's total sales in 2009 were approximately $82.5 million. Arrow said that the acquisition is expected to be accretive to its earnings in the first full year of operations. |
