Free anti-virus software maker AVG Technologies has launched its newest Internet security suite, AVG 2011, whose design builds on from the company's global community of over 110 million users. The suite also includes enhanced web and social network-protection.
AVG says 99 percent of contemporary threats are web-based and live on legitimate web sites for less than 24-hours, the defense against which requires real-time analysis and detection in the form of its LinkScanner that is designed to automatically check, in real-time, links exchanged within social networks such as Facebook and MySpace. Enhancements in response to its global community of users has been incorporated to improve ease of use, including a five-click installation, a “game mode” background scan that does not interrupt full-screen and multimedia applications, and a ‘single click fix’ that lets users automatically fix problems via a “Fix It” button.
While the free version is available to users on the company's website, pricing for the paid one-year, one-seat license starts at $54.99. |
