Aspect picks up Quilogy Inc
Tuesday, 12 January 2010 16:58 Written by Dhruv Tanwar

Aspect, which applies unified communications (UC) and collaboration, said it acquired Quilogy Inc., a well-recognized IT services firm.  The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Quilogy has expertise in collaboration technologies for key Microsoft platforms including its  fastest-growing server product, Microsoft SharePoint, and others such as .NET application development, business  intelligence, Microsoft Dynamics CRM and digital marketing capabilities. It also has vertical industry experience that Aspect aims to use in the areas of healthcare and public sector. Quilogy, which has a long-standing relationship with Microsoft, is a leading  National Systems Integrator (NSI) partner.

In a statement, Aspect said the acquisition adds collaboration capabilities to Aspect’s unified communications services portfolio to help organizations improve business processes with the combined capabilities of these technologies. Bringing together unified communications and collaboration software applications with systems integration (SI) capabilities allows customers to achieve business objectives more effectively than through services or applications individually. Aspect says it shares mutual expertise in Microsoft technologies with Quilogy – in a strategic equity partnership with Microsoft Corp., Aspect has expertise in unified communications while Quilogy provides strategic and technical knowledge in collaboration tools for key Microsoft platforms.

Jim Foy, chief executive officer, Aspect said the opportunities for innovation with unified communications applications for the contact center would mean new product capabilities, customized solution development, and “tighter ties to enterprise resources for our contact center customers.” The combined company will offer unified communications and collaboration services, including IT and SI services, such as strategic planning, design and architecture, user experience and interface design, implementation and hosting, user adoption and training, custom development, and business process consulting for Microsoft and Aspect software and platforms.

With the acquisition, Quilogy’s team of application development and IT service experts will join Aspect Professional Services, led by Manish Chandak, former president of Quilogy, who will join as a vice president of professional services. “Quilogy has a long-standing relationship with Microsoft and is among its leading national systems integrator partners," he said.  "With this acquisition, we now have the scale to deploy resources across the globe to meet our customer’s needs.”
