Dassault Systèmes signs agreement with Saudi Arabian science & tech organization |

Dassault Systèmes, which provides 3D and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions, has signed an agreement with King Abdulaziz City for Science & Technology (KACST) at the Paris Air Show 2011 for the advancement of digital design and engineering literacy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.  The company will be the strategic partner of KACST, the principal organization in Saudi Arabia that drives national Science and Technology policies, conducts research and development and provides strategic direction to local educational institutes for achieving industrial diversification goals. KACST administratively reports to the Prime Minister and as the Saudi Arabian national science agency makes policies pertaining to science and technology, data collection, funding of external research and services such as the patent office. The agreement will lay out the groundwork for evolutions in the Saudi Arabian manufacturing industry by supplying a sustained flow of highly employable Saudi Arabian engineers. In a statement, Dassault Systèmes said most of these engineers will be the work-force for KACST mega projects while others will create their own companies to support the Kingdom's industrial sector. The agreement will also facilitate the national policy of industrialization, the growth of the digital economy and significantly involve women in the workforce leveraging new technologies for telecommuting. |
