Fiserv, Equifax, Teradata and Trimble have all announced acquisitions over the past week. While Fiserv added M- Com to its portfolio, Equifax picked up Workload Financial Business Consultants Limited, a UK based provider of wealth and asset data business. Trimble acquired Mesta Software to add to its construction applications for the Nordic markets and Teradata agreed to acquire Aster Data Systems, which provides advanced analytics and management of diverse unstructured data.
Fiserv, Inc. acquired Mobile Commerce Ltd. (M-Com), an international mobile banking and payments provider, to enhance its existing mobile channel capabilities. Both companies have been partners since 2008. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Founded in 2000, M-Com is based in Atlanta, Ga., and has an office in New Zealand. M-Com CEO Adam Clark and all employees of M-Com will join Fiserv as part of the transaction.
Credit and risk management services company Equifax acquired Workload Financial Business Consultants Limited, a UK based provider of strategic intelligence to wealth and investment financial product providers. Since its formation in 1988, Workload operates a shared investment product data exchange with information provided by over 90 of the UK's leading financial services companies, providing these organisations with business-critical market intelligence in order to drive sales, product design and distribution strategies. The acquisition ties into Equifax's global strategy to continue to develop its market-leading wealth intelligence business. Equifax had acquired US wealth data specialist, IXI, at the end of 2009, and the Workload acquisition would extends this expertise, Equifax said.
Trimble acquired a suite of software solutions from Mesta Entreprenor AS, a subsidiary of Mesta Konsern AS, a large Norwegian contracting group for road and highway construction as well as related operations and maintenance. The software suite includes office, field data collection and on-machine solutions specifically designed for the Nordic construction market. Financial terms were not disclosed. The suite will allow Trimble to address local application requirements and provide complete customized construction solutions for the Nordic markets. The software is used by Mesta subsidiaries as well as many of the largest civil engineering and construction contractors in Norway and Sweden.
Teradata inked a deal to acquire Aster Data Systems, Inc., a provider of advanced analytics and unstructured data management services. The company said The combination the acquisition would allow businesses to unlock new intelligence that is hidden within the ever-growing volume of big data, .mix of structured and unstructured data involving complex interrelationships that do not lend themselves to analysis with today's traditional techniques. Sources of this “big” unstructured, diverse, non-relational data include web applications, sensor networks, social networks, genomics, video and photographs. The deal covers Aster Data's business, including its intellectual property and technology product line, through a merger transaction. |
