Hitachi Consulting acquires Sierra Atlantic |

Hitachi Consulting, a company delivering business and IT strategies and solutions, has acquired Sierra Atlantic, a provider of offshore enterprise applications and outsourced product development. The acquisition significantly expands Hitachi Consulting’s footprint, adding offshore Global Development Centers in Hyderabad, India, and Guangzhou, China to its portfolio along with expanded capabilities to its Oracle business. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Founded in 1993, Newark, California based Sierra Atlantic provides offshore IT outsourcing with approximately 2400 employeesworldwide. It has operations in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific, with around 200 customers across the Fortune 1000 and Small Medium Enterprise (SME) segments, specializing in enterprise application implementation and management services. It uses Oracle, PeopleSoft, Siebel, Microsoft and Agile in the discrete and process manufacturing, life sciences, financial services and retail industries. Hitachi said both companies will utilize their respective business process integration skills to work toward a smooth transition to maintain business momentum, retain personnel and continue the highest quality of client support. It also said that the management team of Sierra Atlantic will remain intact and be integral to the success of the newly merged company. |
