HTC buys patents from ADC Telecommunications for $75 million

HTC, the Taiwan based smartphone manufacturer, is reported to have bought a portfolio of 82 patents related to mobile technology from US based ADC Telecommunications. The deal is also reported to include 14 patent pending applications.
Reports suggest the patent acquisition would help HTC beef up its 4G technology. HTC makes both Windows Phone 7 and Android based smart phones.
