IT consulting and services provider Mahindra Satyam has announced the commencement of its special economic zone (SEZ) at the Mahindra Satyam Infocity Campus at Hyderabad. Salman Khurshid, minister corporate affairs, Government of India was the Chief Guest at the occasion. Mahindra Group vice chairman and managing director Anand Mahindra, Mahindra Satyam Chairman Vineet Nyyar and CEO CP Gurnani were also present.
The SEZ is spread across 26 acres of land and will have a built up area of 400,000 square feet upon which construction has already begun. The first phase of the campus will be ready for occupation within the next six months and will seat around 5,000 associates. Reports said that the company would be recruiting around 7,500 people in the coming months, with 5,000 to be seated at the new SEZ at its InfoCity Campus at Madhapur and another 2,500 added through an internal recruitment drive through referrals. The SEZ inauguration comes amidst the celebrations of the anniversary of the Mahindra Satyam take-over by Venture Bay Pvt. Ltd, the Tech Mahindra subsidiary. |
