NetApp has announced its financial results for the first quarter of fiscal year 2011, ending July 30, 2010.
Revenues for the quarter totaled $1.14 billion compared to revenues of $838 million for the same period a year ago. Net income was $142 million or $0.38 per share as compared to $52 million, or $0.15 per share for the same period in the prior year.
The company estimates revenue for the second quarter to be in the range of $1.16 billion to $1.21 billion. With an estimated share count higher by six million, NetApp says it anticipates second quarter earnings per share to be approximately $0.35 to $0.38.
The company said it expanded its strategic relationships with Microsoft and other partners during the quarter, which will help customers and service providers make the transition to a cloud computing environment. It also beefed up its trilateral collaboration with VMware and Cisco, unveiling new solutions to increase data center efficiencies for customers. |
