Open Source CMS Joomla brings out new version |

Following the release of the latest version of Drupal, the open source content management system, another community developed CMS, Joomla!, has announced the availability of its newest version. Joomla, a popular open source CMS (content management system), has updated its latest version Joomla 1.6 with tools that improve website management and access, a more robust organizational structure for content control, and various other user-experience improvements throughout the software.Joomla’s popularity stems from its ease of use and extensibility that has seen it being used for everything from small personal websites to the backend management for some of the largest enterprises and highest traffic sites on the Web, including sites operated by Citibank, eBay, General Electric, Harvard University, Ikea, McDonald’s and others. Joomla 1.6 features include a new access management system, user-defined category levels for organizing content as needed, a single-click system of applying extension updates, semantic XHTML Layouts enhancing content presentation, and multi-language functionality.
