Quest Software, Inc. has said that it has acquired Germany-based Völcker Informatik AG, a privately held identity management solutions provider that specializes in the management of user identities, access privileges and security across multiple applications and systems.
Quest said that the acquisition would extend its Quest One Identity Solution product portfolio, adding stronger user and resource provisioning, self-service and workflow capabilities to the existing set of tools and technology that provide identity and access management (IAM). Quest One simplifies IAM by consolidating directories, unifying identities around an organization’s existing investments, and automating administrative tasks, thereby increasing security and ensuring compliance.
Völcker's ActiveEntry extends this efficiency, security and compliance, Quest says, to the entire range of systems, platforms and applications across the enterprise. Active Entry can be used out-of-the-box already 90% configured, which will allow Quest to deliver a business-centric identity management solution. Doug Garn, CEO and president, Quest Software said the Völcker acquisition adds an extra dimension to the Quest One solution, providing the power, security and efficiency demanded by organizations across their entire enterprise. “This addresses the common barriers of cost, time and complexity typically associated with IAM,” he said. |
