Red Hat, Wipro partner to deliver Open Source solutions in India |

Open source solutions provider Red Hat and Indian IT company Wipro has announced a partnership that will see the rollout of open source solutions across India. The partnership will allow customers in India to evaluate, select and use open source solutions backed by solution and support from Red Hat, with implementation, delivery and support services from Wipro.  Wipro sis Red Hat's first Premier Partner in India, with the two companies agreeing on leveraging joint marketing and integration opportunities designed to bring open source solutions to enterprises across the subcontinent. Both organizations plan to collaborate in building integrated solutions on Red Hat technologies through joint investments in Wipro’s Centre of Excellence at Bangalore. The objective, Wipro said, is to build frameworks and platforms that can be readily replicated and customized by architects and developers to create solutions for industry verticals including telecommunications, banking, financial services, insurance, government, defense and utilities industries.Wipro has been a Red Hat partner for over five years and has substantial skill sets across open source technologies, according to Nandu Pradhan, president & managing director, Red Hat India. A key project executed jointly by Wipro and Red Hat has been at the Employee State Insurance Corporation (ESIC). Wipro has been selected to implement ESIC's Project Panchdeep, which is aimed at improving healthcare services to its beneficiaries. The solution from Wipro is a completely on the Open Source Stack and has been deployed on Red Hat Enterprise Linux leveraging the integrated virtualization and clustering. Wipro and Red Hat have partnered together in this key win. Open source has seen increased adoption across the enterprise, specifically in government, telecommunications and insurance industries, Wipro said. Achuthan Nair, Wipro's Vice President and Business Head for Professional Services, for India, Middle East and Africa said the partnership is a compelling value proposition for customers who have started to adopt the performance, reliability, scalability, security and superior value available through open source technology. |
