Tech-based language-learning solutions provider Rosetta Stone has reported total revenues of $60.9 million for the third quarter of 2010, down 9% from the same period in 2009 though slightly higher as compared to the second quarter 2010. Net loss for the quarter was $0.4 million, or $0.02 per share, against a net income of $5.3 million, or $0.25 per diluted share in the same quarter during 2009. Adjusted EBITDA, which deducts stock-based compensation expense, was $1.2 million. As of September 30, 2010, cash and cash equivalents were $109.8 million, increasing approximately $10.1 million from June 30, 2010. Net cash provided by operating activities in the quarter was $10.1 million, while cash used for capital expenditures was $2.5 million.
Outlining its financial outlook for the upcoming fourth quarter, the company said it anticipates total revenue of $76 million to $81 million, an operating EBITDA of $17.5 million to $21.5 million and net income per diluted share of $0.28 to $0.38. |
