Accenture has inked a five-year business process outsourcing (BPO) contract with Statoil, the Norwegian energy company that has operations in 40 countries. Accenture will manage Statoil's Accounts Payables processes. Financial details of the contract were not disclosed.
In its statement, Accenture said the agreement would improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Statoil’s Accounts Payable function by reengineering processes and increasing automation supported through Accenture’s Global Delivery Network using centers in Norway, the Czech Republic and India.
Delivery of the outsourced services is scheduled to commence in September 2010. Accenture said it had worked with Statoil since the late 1970’s, in the areas of Management Consulting and Technology Services.
