To provide additional insight in the financial performance of the world's largest software companies, we launched The Big International
Software Index on July 9th, 2006.
The BISI (pronounced as: bizzi) is composed of all stocks of Top 100 companies that are quoted on stock exchanges anywhere in the world. In
2006 this meant that the BISI was composed of 92 stocks. All stocks are weighed equally, starting at a weight of 1,00 on the (re-)indexing
date. All stocks are weighed in their own valuta, meaning the BISI is valuta-indifferent, but as the majority of the Top 100 is quoted in the
US, there is a de facto relation to the US dollar. Companies that loose their quotation for some reason (mostly due to a take-over)
are kept in the index at their last known quotation.
The quotes on which the BISI is calculated for display on this website are derived from
www.quote.com (thanks guys, great website!) and are at least 20 to 30 minutes delayed.
