| Tieto focuses its business in India to Pune and Bangalore |
IT service company Tieto has said that it plans to focus its buisiness in India at Pune and Bangalore by moving operations from Hyderabad to other locations by the end of June. Tieto provides information technology, research and development and consulting services. The company said that by consolidating operations to Pune and Bangalore it would be able to optimize customer closeness and develop larger and more sustainable delivery sites in India.  Tieto plans to develop Bangalore as its new telecom site as the city has become the hub for the telecom and media industry in India. Tieto said most people at its Hyderabad site would be offered jobs in Pune or Bangalore; the company employs around a thousand people in India. Sampo Salonen, Executive Vice President, Global Service Lines said, “Bangalore offers good talents, competitive atmosphere and interesting business opportunities.” He said Bangalore would help focus the company's telecom-realted services by being closer to customers geographically “and therefore have better opportunities to increase business engagements with them and establish business relations with new customers.” |
